Life Must Go On Project - Vocational Support and Online Selling Platform for the Disabled

Osotspa provides opportunities for people who were the breadwinners for their families before they became disabled as a result of a serious accident or illness. Through the “Life Must Go On” project, the Company assists such individuals in regaining the ability to move forward with self-reliance. We have created income-generating activities and vocational training while supporting a market access platform for three project categories, focusing on sustainable vocations through the concept of "teaching a man to fish". This year, the Osotspa Foundation expanded its projects to provide career opportunities to people.

Throughout the project, Osotspa has gained knowledge and experience that have allowed it to expand its collaborative network with various organizations in the public and private sectors, including the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, the Department of Employment, local government agencies, and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. We continue to develop new models that assist people with disabilities. This includes creating a community in which members can support one another by exchanging knowledge about product distribution channels and advice on marketing, sales promotion, and brand building for the disabled. Among the brands created for this project are 'Kindee' for agricultural products, 'Handy' for basketry products, and 'Yoodee' for woodworking furniture. The online platform page 'Kindee Yoodee Handy' was created to expand into the online market and become more well-known. Importantly, it encourages disabled participants in the project to shift from being receivers to givers by sharing their experiences with others. A learning center has been established and is run by the disabled for the disabled to pass on knowledge and skills to new members and those who are interested.

In 2023, the project helped disabled people grow their income, benefiting both their families and caregivers.

Osotspa ran the “Bottle to Bottle” project for the fourth consecutive year in 2024, reinforcing its commitment to environmentally friendly product packaging within Osotspa Group. The program takes advantage of the fact that glass bottle waste can be managed through the model of circular economy as glass bottles are 100% recyclable with no limit on the number of cycles.
The Company piloted this initiative with the community surrounding its headquarters in Hua Mak and later expanded it to communities around its factory in Phra Nakhon, Si Ayutthaya Province. The project involves empowering the community to appoint representatives to collect glass bottle waste for sale to waste collection centers or glass factories. The Company provided bins for glass waste separation and sent over 50 volunteer employees to teach the community how to sort waste properly. They also promoted environmental conservation, sustainable protection of natural ecosystems, reduction of deforestation, and the sustainable use of resources. Additionally, the Company recorded the volume of collected waste and donated 0.5 baht for every 1 kilogram of glass collected. The funds were used to purchase resources for the community, organize public benefit activities, and support underprivileged individuals based on community needs. Examples include the construction of community sports areas and installation of solar cells to power public lighting.
In 2024, the project engaged with over 215 households, 4 juristic entities, and 1 school, generating income for waste collection representatives from 4 communities. The Company also participated in the Care the Whale project by the Stock Exchange of Thailand, distributing glass waste bins to over 32 participating listed companies and Wat Chak Daeng in Samut Prakan Province.
In 2024, the Bottle to Bottle project collected 91.23 tons of glass waste for recycling, helping reduce 75.77 tCO2e*. This initiative also helped reduce costs by approximately 163,000 Baht by recycling cullet (glass scrap) back into the glass bottle production process. (based on the purchasing price reference from Wongpanit International Co., Ltd) Since the project’s inception in 2021, the Company has collected a total of 211.71 tons of glass waste, equivalent to removing 175.82 tCO2e*.
