Current health issues, particularly non-communicable diseases (NCDs), continue to intensify, leading to an increasing number of premature deaths. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), NCDs cause at least 43 million deaths each year, accounting for approximately 75% of all deaths globally based on 2021 data. Of these, 18 million people die before the age of 70, with more than 82% of such premature deaths occurring in low- and middle-income countries.

One of the key contributing factors is unhealthy consumption behavior, including the high intake of sugar, fat, or sodium in food and beverages. As a result, consumers are increasingly seeking products that support better health, while still expecting nutritional value, taste profiles similar to existing products, and affordable prices.

At the same time, the energy drink and functional drink industries continue to attract growing interest, as consumers are looking for beverages that do more than simply quench thirst. They expect products that provide additional health benefits, such as energy support, digestive support, or immune system support. Convenience, product accessibility, and affordability are all factors that help drive the growth of this market in line with the behavior of health-conscious consumers.

In response, the Company places importance on developing new products that respond to the needs of consumers in the era of the modern diet. The Company aims to increase the proportion of products containing beneficial nutrients, with reduced or no added sugar, while maintaining taste and affordability. This approach supports a balance between health and long-term consumption experience.

Osotspa recognizes Consumer Health and Well-being as a material external impact associated with its products and services, as product formulation, nutritional profile, and consumption can directly affect consumers’ health and quality of life. Potential negative impacts may arise from excessive consumption of sugar and other nutrients of concern, particularly among vulnerable consumer groups, while positive impacts can be supported through product reformulation, nutritional fortification, the development of healthier product alternatives, appropriate consumer information, and products designed to support health and nutrition.

In response to these impacts, Osotspa has identified the promotion of consumer health, nutrition, and well-being as a key objective in product development across its beverage portfolio. This commitment extends throughout the value chain, from research and development, raw material sourcing, and manufacturing to consumer communication. The Company is committed to developing quality and safe products while delivering nutritional value across both energy drink and health beverage categories. To ensure product safety and support consumer well-being, Osotspa applies internationally recognized food safety standards, including GHPs, HACCP, and FSSC 22000. The Company also continues to reformulate beverages to contain less than 6% sugar and enhance nutritional value to meet the needs of consumers seeking specific health benefits, while taking into consideration potential impacts on vulnerable groups. These efforts are aligned with the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations to help prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and promote long-term consumer health.

To effectively drive its health and nutrition strategy, the Company has clearly defined roles and responsibilities. The Board of Directors oversees the overall health and nutrition strategy to ensure alignment with the Company’s sustainability vision. Senior executives are responsible for setting direction, policies, and necessary resources, as well as monitoring performance. Cross-functional teams, including R&D, Marketing, Product Quality, and Sustainability, work together to develop, review, and validate nutrition- and health-related communications to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance with applicable national and international laws and standards.

This management approach enables the Company to systematically manage health- and nutrition-related risks, opportunities, and impacts, while mitigating potential adverse impacts and enhancing positive outcomes for consumers and society.

Moving forward, the Company will expand beverage products with reduced sugar content in accordance with international nutrition criteria and Thailand’s Healthier Choice guidelines. Osotspa will also continue research and development of low-sugar and sugar-free products to cover a wider range of offerings, while promoting consumer communication to help consumers choose beverages that are appropriate for their health needs.

Osotspa recognizes the importance of managing potential adverse impacts of its products on all consumers, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, older persons, individuals with medical conditions or specific health needs, and pregnant women. Serving sizes and on-pack communications are carefully considered to help reduce the risk of overconsumption and promote mindful and safe consumption across different age groups. For example, M-150 energy drinks clearly display an on-pack warning stating: “Do not consume more than two cans per day, as excessive consumption may cause heart palpitations and insomnia. Children and pregnant women should not consume this product, and individuals with underlying medical conditions should consult a physician before consumption.” Consumer hotline contact information is also provided, enabling consumers to conveniently make inquiries or raise concerns.

Osotspa is committed to delivering high-quality and safe products that meet consumer needs. The Company’s products have been recognized for their quality and standards for more than a century, supported by the collective efforts of employees throughout the production process. Health & Nutrition Programs

Osotspa’s Compliance with Nutrition Regulations and Nutritional Standards

Osotspa complies with nutrition-related regulations in each country where it operates, ensuring all product formulations and labeling align with local dietary standards. The company employs a nutrient profiling system based on the Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) of each respective country. RDI refers to the daily recommended amounts of nutrients such as vitamins, energy, and minerals that support overall health and help prevent nutritional deficiencies.

This nutrient-based approach is widely used in the food and beverage industry to communicate the nutritional value of a product — specifically, what percentage of the RDI a serving of the product provides

In addition, the company refers to the Codex Alimentarius, an international food standard developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as a guideline for ensuring food safety and nutritional value in its products. This alignment ensures that the company’s products comply with globally recognized best practices in food safety and nutrition.

The Codex guidelines are applied in several key areas, including:

  • Regulation of sugar and sodium content, to ensure levels are appropriate and safe for health.
  • Use of food additives, such as sweeteners, colors, and preservatives, in accordance with the Codex General Standard for Food Additives (GSFA), which defines the types and maximum permissible levels of additives.
  • Nutritional labeling, based on Codex standards to ensure transparent, accurate, and consumer-friendly communication of nutritional information.

In addition to legal compliance, Osotspa applies recognized nutritional quality standards set by independent organizations and regulatory authorities to evaluate the health profile of its beverage products:

  • For functional drinks, the company follows the Healthier Choice Logo (HCL) criteria issued by the Ministry of Public Health (Thailand).
  • For energy drinks (e.g., M-150, Lipo, Shark) and supplement products (e.g., C-Vitt, Peptein, Peptein Good Night), RDI values are used as the primary benchmark to guide formulation and labeling, supporting consumer awareness of nutrient content.

This approach ensures transparency, supports consumer health, and aligns with Osotspa’s commitment to responsible product development.

The Company provides appropriate serving sizes, a variety of packaging sizes, and clear consumption guidance to help consumers understand how much to consume and make informed choices. Product labels also provide relevant nutritional information, recommended consumption instructions, and mandatory warnings in accordance with applicable food labelling laws and regulations.

Key practices include:

  • Recommended consumption and portion guidance: Product labels provide clear instructions on the recommended amount or frequency of consumption, helping consumers regulate their intake and avoid excessive consumption.
  • Mandatory warnings: Where required by law, appropriate warnings are displayed prominently on product packaging to help consumers understand consumption limitations and relevant precautions. For example, M-150 energy drink carries a warning advising consumers not to consume more than two bottles per day, together with warnings for children and pregnant women and advice for people with underlying health conditions to consult a doctor before consumption.
  • Responsible health and nutrition claims: For products with health or nutritional positioning, Osotspa ensures that information and claims communicated on packaging are accurate, transparent, supported by appropriate evidence, and compliant with applicable laws and regulations. For example, C-Vitt, a dietary supplement, provides product information and relevant regulatory disclaimers to ensure that consumers understand the nature and intended use of the product and are not misled regarding disease prevention or treatment.
  • Packaging sizes and formats: The Company considers appropriate serving sizes and packaging formats as part of product development, balancing consumer convenience and product functionality with the objective of supporting mindful consumption.

Through these practices, Osotspa uses packaging not only to protect and deliver its products, but also as an important communication tool that supports consumers in controlling the amount they consume, understanding recommended consumption, and making safer and more informed choices.
